Born in Malaga, Antonio Ortiz is regularly invited to perform in most relevant Spanish Festivals, (Granada, Santander, Mallorca, Córdoba, Lucena, Gijón...) and in the main Spanish Music Halls (National Auditorium & Teatro Real, Madrid, Grand Teatro Liceu & Palau, Barcelona, Palau de Les Arts, Valencia). His recent appearance at the well known Scherzo Piano Series in Madrid, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela was greatly acclaimed by the audience and the media.

A part of his Spanish career, he has developed a rich artistic relations in France, Italy, Russia, Portugal.and Colombia. He plays offtenly with the major Orchestras in Spain, with a remarkable broadcast recording of the Beethoven 5th Piano Concerto, accompanied by the Spanish Radio Orchestra. He has collaborated with conductors such as James Judd, Aldo Ceccato, Bruno Aprea, Fusao Kajima, Darrel Ang, Francisco de Gálvez, Pablo Mielgo and Blanca Trabalón.

He has made several recordings for Spanish National Radio and Television, Catalunya Radio, and he recently published a CD containing works by Debussy, Ravel, Albéniz, Bártok and Prokofiev.

During his career to date he had the chance to learn from great teachers, like Dimitri Bashkirov (Madrid), Marie Françoise Buquet (Paris), Josep María Colom (Madrid), Claudio Martínez Mehner (Madrid) and Jose Felipe Diaz (Malaga).

Antonio Ortiz is very interested on teaching, working since 2009 at the Reina Sofía School of Music, Madrid and the Salamanca High Conservatory since 2012.
